Dear Human Resource Director,
I am seeking a challenging, full time position in Web Site Development and Graphic Design. My ability to organize, design and produce interactive web sites will allow me to make an immediate contribution as the newest member of your creative team. My extensive knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, Image Optimization, Cascading Style Sheets, and interface design has been demonstrated in the 21 web sites that I’ve created and designed from concept to completion.
Highlights of my skills include:
 |
Technical: Multimedia,
Web, and Graphic Design; Photography; Digital Video and Sound
Editing |
 |
Programs:
Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks, Photoshop, Illustrator, Director,
and Authorware. |
 |
Communication:
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Impeccable documentation. |
 |
Organizational:
Well-organized and able to plan, coordinate and supervise complex projects. |
My experience includes working for 6 months as lead web developer for DynaVox Technologies. I worked with all departments of the company on a wide array of projects, including development of a new company Intranet, and designing and creating the new monthly e-newsletter web site, DynaVoXPRESSions. In addition, my duties also included: updating and maintaining the DynaVox corporate web site and providing technical support for our sales reps and customers across the United States.
I am also a skilled graphic designer, and I've created a variety of projects, such as: CD covers, logos, business cards, signs, banners, brochures, greeting cards, invitations, etc. I am also an avid photographer, and I’m well versed in Adobe Photoshop and ImageReady to enhance and optimize images for the web. In addition, I am adept in Adobe Illustrator, having taught this class at Community College of Allegheny County.
I studied Art Education at Carlow College for 2 years. This distinguishes me from other web developers, since my strong art background allows me to fully integrate principles of color and design into all my projects.
I volunteer for many nonprofit organizations in Pittsburgh, working well within these groups to organize events and achieve common goals. My volunteer work includes: Amy’s Army, Circle C Youth & Family Services, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and the Latin American & Caribbean Heritage Project.
In July of 2003 I was elected Web Design Chair for the Heritage Room Project, part of the University of Pittsburgh ’s Nationality Rooms Program. As part of this committee, I have demonstrated my ability to develop design concepts, work with a team, organize information, and meet project deadlines. www.heritageroom.org.
I invite you to browse through the different sections of my Digital Portfolio web site, where you will find samples of my work in Web and Graphic Design, Multimedia, and Photography . However, I'm certain that I can better describe my qualifications in person, and I am available for an interview at your request.
In conclusion, my passion and enthusiasm for my work, combined with my education, creativity, and strong work ethic, make me the ideal candidate for a position in Web Site Development. I welcome the opportunity of contributing
to your company’s continued success.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Deena N. Alansky
