Since 2002 I have worked as a freelance web and graphic designer. My goal was always to not only meet, but exceed my clients’ expectations. As a freelancer, I have gained valuable experience in sales, marketing, customer service, project management, and of course, web and graphic design. My work has also allowed me to hone my written and verbal communications skills through the planning, writing, and presenting of website proposals to all prospective clients.

My professional experience includes a 6-month contract position as lead web developer for HUDynaVox TechnologiesUH. I worked with all departments of the company on a wide array of projects, including the development of a new company intranet site and designing and creating a new monthly electronic newsletter website. In addition, I updated and maintained the DynaVox corporate website, created HTML email announcements, and provided technical support for our sales representatives and customers across the United States.

In 2003 I was elected Web Design Chair for the Heritage Room Project, part of the University of Pittsburgh’s Nationality Rooms Program. As a volunteer, I work with my fellow committee members to organize, plan, and promote our fundraising events. As Web Design Chair, my duties have included creating and updating the Heritage Room website, designing banners, flyers and posters for all our events, and being the official event photographer. www.heritageroom.org

For the past 10 years, I have been working with the Adobe Creative Suite almost every day, gaining valuable hands-on experience with Photoshop, ImageReady, Fireworks, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver. I have taught Adobe Illustrator at Community College of Allegheny County, and I’ve taught Photoshop and Dreamweaver workshops to local businesses and organizations. I also have a strong art background, including 2 years of graduate studies in Art Education at Carlow College. This allows me to fully integrate principles of color, composition, typography and design into all my work.

I volunteer for many nonprofit organizations in Pittsburgh, working well within these groups to organize events and achieve common goals. My volunteer work includes:  Amy’s Army, Circle C Youth & Family Services, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and the Latin American & Caribbean Heritage Project.
